Shelbyville Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident

A two-vehicle accident resulted in the injury to a Shelbyville man at around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 36, one mile west of Anabel.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by 27-year-old Phillip K. Bradshaw of Shelbyville was driving west when he attempted to pass a 1995 Freightliner driven by Martin T. Griffiths, 67, of Callao.
The Patrol said Bradshaw’s vehicle drove into the backside of the freightliner.
Bradshaw suffered moderate injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Boone Hospital in Columbia. His vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident. The freightliner received minor damage.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The patrol was assisted by the Macon Rural Fire Department and MoDOT.
