A large portion of the west wall of the Bowling Alley (Morgan building) fell Thursday morning at around 6:30 a.m. prompting city workers to close Missouri Street in that block. The structure is in a dangerous state and city officials urge people to stay a safe distance from the structure as bricks continue to topple off of it a little at a time. We will have a full story in next Wednesday's issue of the Shelbina Weekly.

The members of the Teachenor Post 376 of the American Legion put on a Memorial Day service at the Legion Hall in Shelbina on Monday. Shelbina First Baptist Church Preacher John Edwards gave the opening invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was then recited by everyone who attended. Tracy Smith followed with singing “My Country Tis of Thee” and “God Bless America.” Commander Charles Dodd presented a 50 year continuous membership certificate to John McDonald. McDonald received a nice round of applause from those who attended the event. The Eulogy was given by Bill Walton, a longtime friend of Dr. Albin Covington of Shelbyville. For the full story, see this week’s issue of the Shelbina Weekly.
