   Industrial Arts Program
The Shelby County R-IV School Board is facing some of tough decisions with the economic situation the way it currently stands.
The board planned to discuss the possibility of cutting the industrial arts program during Thursday’s meeting, and with new board member Brian Threlkeld joining, decided to schedule a special meeting for Monday to give Threlkeld a little more time to get caught up on the situation. The board voted 7-0 to do away with the program.

Shelbina City Administrator Dennis Klusmeyer said that it is important people stay away from the buildings with tape around them. There have been complaints of kids playing inside of the tape and hanging around the buildings. Klusmeyer said if anyone sees this they are encouraged to report it to the Shelbina Police Department. There have been several structures in the downtown area that are in poor, and even dangerous conditions. With the buildings in this current situation, he said it is important to keep a safe distance from them.   2560 1015 4/14/2010 hdl
