The north side of the former Country Creations business located on the west side of South Center Street.

Sitting in his office, City Administrator Dennis Klusmeyer’s computer is reminding him in large flashing letters that time is running out for an up-date. Nothing could be closer to the truth.
At 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning Shelbina Police Officer Harold Jackson reported that the eastern wall the former Country Creations antique mall, located at 114 S. Center St., collapsed. The floor, ceiling, and exterior walls appeared to have significant water damage which may have led the structure to weaken. The property is currently owned by Clifford Ratliff, but has had its doors closed for the past several months. No one was injured.
“I think the property is realtively safe for now,” said Klusmeyer. “Right now the only concern I have is the existing roof on the remaining part of the building.”

After a long discussion, the Shelby County R-IV School Board decided not to move the graduation date even though the school has missed a large amount of days due to inclement weather. This was decided during the regular R-IV board meeting Thursday, March 11 in the middle school library.
   Graduation Date
Superintendent Rick Roberts talked to board members about the possibility of moving the graduation date from May 23 back a week to the following Friday, Saturday or Sunday. With the large amount of snow days and sick days the district had, the end of school has been pushed back.
Roberts explained that he had concerns about plans and reservations that had already been made by parents for their sons and daughters for May 23. A survey was given to the senior students. March 23 was unanimously chosen by the kids as the date they wanted for graduation. High school Principal Deacon Windsor said he talked to the senior students about the possibility of going through the graduation on March 23, but agreeing to come back to school on Monday and Tuesday and doing something fun. Windsor said they are talking about going bowling in Moberly, or playing softball outside, or some kind of fun activity.
