| Lady Birds Use a Big Second Quarter Run to Defeat Louisiana
|
|
The South Shelby Lady Birds stayed perfect in conference play by going on the road and defeating the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs 63-31 on Wednesday, February 10, in a makeup game from an earlier snow out. Louisiana opened the first quarter scoring, taking a 2-0 lead, but the Lady Birds answered with an 11-0 run capped off by a 3-pointer by Ashley Troyer to take an 11-2 lead with 3:36 to play in the first quarter. The Lady Birds were sluggish for the most part early in the game, and Louisiana was able to climb back into the game, going on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 13-12 with 5:49 to play in the second quarter. It was at that point where the Lady Bird defense tightened up and the offense went to work. For the full story, see this week’s issue of the Shelbina Weekly.
