The South Shelby Lady Birds stayed perfect in conference play by going on the road and defeating the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs 63-31 on Wednesday, February 10, in a makeup game from an earlier snow out.
Louisiana opened the first quarter scoring, taking a 2-0 lead, but the Lady Birds answered with an 11-0 run capped off by a 3-pointer by Ashley Troyer to take an 11-2 lead with 3:36 to play in the first quarter.
The Lady Birds were sluggish for the most part early in the game, and Louisiana was able to climb back into the game, going on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 13-12 with 5:49 to play in the second quarter. It was at that point where the Lady Bird defense tightened up and the offense went to work.
