| George “The Shoe Man” Hutchings loads bags of old shoes that were brought in to the Shelbina First Christian Church.
|
George Hutchings, better known as the Shoe Man has been collecting shoes by the thousands. For every thousand pounds of shoes he collects, they can buy a rig set in Kenya to drill for fresh water. The shoes go to South America for people who don’t have shoes, can’t afford to buy shoes, and can get them for pennies on the dollar or they can bartar for them. “I can take 35 cents a pound to collect them, and turn that money around to buy rigs to ship to Kenya. We just bought a 30,000 pound rig that’s being manufactured right now. We hope to ship it next week,” Hutchings explained. For the full story, see this week’s issue of the Shelbina Weekly.
