| Truckstop in Shelbina Could Become a Reality
|
|
The City of Shelbina has been one of the communities that has been mentioned in the last few months to be the location for a new truckstop on Highway 36 in Shelbina. According to Joe Glover, member of the Shelby County Economic Development Council, the prospective owners have been working on getting figures together for the last several months for a proposal to bring before the council. He said the owners told him they are hoping to have that proposal ready for either the first or second meeting in January. Glover has been in contact with the prospective owners, who are from outside of the community. He said they are looking at city-owned land located Northeast of the overpass in Shelbina. Actual construciton for the truckstop wouldn’t begin until sometime in 2011. For the full story, see this week’s issue of the Shelbina Weekly.
