Many parents, grandparents and friends were on hand to see the ceremony as the students received many different awards. American Legion to Hold Memorial Day Service Monday at the Legion Hall

Members of the Teachenor Post 376 of the Shelbina American Legion will conduct the annual Memorial Day Service Monday at 11 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
   The event will open with an invocation by Rev. Albin Covington of Shelbyville. All in attendance will say the Pledge of Allegiance. That will be followed by songs performed by Tracy Smith.
   Albin Covington will then give the Eulogy and the Benediction will be given by Rev. Thad Carter of the Shelbina United Methodist Church.
   Those in attendance will then proceed outside for the Volley. Holly Miles will play TAPS with the bugle.

Shoemyer Responds to False Accusations Left to Many Residents Through Robo Calls

“Strong and sure, I stood up for my district,” Senator Wes Shoemyer said today in response to recorded phone messages to thousands of Northeast Missourians by big city interests angered at Shoemyer’s opposition to their grab for money. Many people in Shelby County received this message over the weekend. “The recorded message you received in your homes came from a big city group, angry that I stood up for the people of my district, and against a 90 million dollar handout to a St. Louis developer,” Shoemyer said.

Shelby County R-IV School Board Hears an Update on the New Concession Stand Facility

The Shelby County R-IV School Board heard an update on the new concession stand during Thursday night’s regular school board meeting at the South Shelby Middle School Library.
   Concession Stand Update
   Babe Simpson attended the school board meeting and talked to the board about how the concession stand project is coming along.
   Simpson said the concession end of the building is sheeted and ready for paint. Once it’s painted they will put the roll up door into place. At that point it will be ready for them to build an island and put in some counter tops. They will also be sheeting the women’s restroom and the dry storage room as well.
