| Dead Body Discovered in Shelbina Home Tuesday

A Shelbina man was found dead in a home he owned at 210 West Spruce Street in Shelbina at around 10:03 a.m. Tuesday. According to Shelbina Police Chief Jenni Rash, upon arrivel police discovered the body of 51-year-old Ronnie McNeal in the dining room area of the house. The exact cause of death has not been determined. Shelby County Coronor Ralph Eagan was called to the scene. The body has been taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, which is scheduled for this morning (Wednesday). | Former Shelbina Police Officer Charged with Fraudlulent Use of a Credit Device

A former Shelbina Police Officer is facing three charges of fraudulent use of a credit device according to Shelbina Police Chief Jenni Rash. On Friday, Feb. 22, Brittany Hollon was arrested and charged with the above counts after allegedly misusing a gas card that belonged to the City of Shelbina while working as a Shelbina Police Officer. | Chlorine and Ammonia Room Getting Close to Operation

| Sonny Young works Tuesday afternoon to get thnigs hooked up in the City's new Chlorine and Ammonia room.

Sonny Young, an employee at the Shelbina Water Plant, was busy Monday afternoon working on getting a new chlorine and ammonia room online with the City’s water system. Young said that he didn’t know if the process would be up and working by Tuesday afternoon, but it was a possibility. The facility will be able to inject chlorine and ammonia into the City’s water.

| Shelbina City Council Accepts Bid For Roof Replacement at the Water Plant

Shelbina City Superintendent Rob Trivette presented the council with bids from two different companies for a metal roof to cover the existing tar roof at the water plant and chemical building. A bid was received from Septgon Construction Company, Inc. for a total of $46,673 for the complete project. A second bid was received by Schwada Builders Inc. It was for $13,395 for the water plant and $7,570 for the chemical building. Insulation for the projects would total $812 for a total of $21,777. The council passed a motion to accept the bid from Schwada Builders Inc. This took place during Tuesday night's regular Shelbina City Council meeting. | Shelbina Fire Fighters Respond to Two Fires

The Shelbina Fire Protection District responded to two area fires last week. At around 11:45 a.m. on Friday, March 6, fire fighters responded to a natural cover fire at Larrick Farms on 30902 Monroe Road 227, five miles Southwest of Shelbina. The Shelbina Fire Protection District also responded to a structure fire at around 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 at 6194 Highway N, one mile north of Lentner.
